Mayan New Year Report
Aluna Joy Yaxkin - 3/2002

Mayan New Year Equinox 2002 Report!
What is Mayan Astrology telling us about our next 365 days
At sunrise on 3/21/2002 we enter a Mayan New Year of
13 IK - wind (in Yucatan) and 2 E - grass-human (in Kiche)

I don’t know about you but I feel like I am coming out of a cocoon. Fall and winter was a deep inward journey with a lot of challenges mostly to face myself on a deeper level. But in the last few days as spring approaches, I feel lighter and have more energy. I feel like I am coming back to life just like the grasses and the trees. So I welcome this new year with great energy and anticipation for great growth, abundance and health. It feels like we have made it thought the unspeakable this winter…. It is time to celebrated the wonderful life the creator has given us. It is time to CHANGE our minds and Create the dream in our hearts.

13 IK - wind (in Yucatan)
An Ik year is about CHANGE and the ripples of change of events past that will keep shifting us and catalyzing us to grow as we move forward. If we are smart we can become masters of adaptability that can trigger magic, mystery and awaken the inner shaman. If we resist the changes we may find ourselves out of the flow feeling like we have been ditched by the creator. When we are out of sync we may feel betrayed, abandoned, and separated. Remember there is security for the seeker or danger for the one who avoids seeking in a IK year. Be careful not to be overly critical and strongly opinionated about issues that could be solved with an open heart in an instant. We should not forget to act from the Heart even thought it might seam hard to deal with our emotions. It will be important to maintain balance and to calm our over active nervous system. We will develop untapped psychic abilities and with this will discover common ground between seemingly unrelated issues and situations to help awareness and peaceful solutions.

The number 13 brings a illusion buster with microscopic vision. We can easily be more clairvoyant and have prophetic dreams so keep a note book by the bed side. Ik is the arrival of a dark thundering storm and the clear blue sky that follows. The crisis is past in which the darkness of the void brings clarity. By years end we will have collected all of the tools we need to complete our mission. Great affirmation this year would be "I am living my true authenticity and I will continue towards the perfection of my whole self." Be flexible, be a seeker of truth and live it.

2 E (Eh) - grass-human (in Quiche Maya)
In the calendars of the Quiche Maya we will enter a year of the human or E (Eh) and is represented by the soles of the feet. This year is about having your feet on the ground. It is about the spiritual path, the journey and a year that will prove to be a way shower. It is the balance of duality and a way to see life in a new way. It is a year for gratefulness and thanks for all we are, have and experience. It is a year where we will feel the need to travel and also a time for community and to share the wealth we have collectively. We will discover a deep love for all humanity. We will find ourselves hard at work in humanitarian related projects. Beware that this year we might feel like building a wall around ourselves. Remember to stay open and be careful of using strategies in a bad way, or being manipulative.

Blending the 2 calendar counts…
This year will change our lives forever but not with out a new directions to take. There will be change in all areas of lives but will also offer equal levels of inner and cosmic guidance to find the new path. Just breathe… remember to flow with the punches … and listen for the messages.
