What does a royal Mayan tomb in Palenque Mexico have to do with space aliens?
In 1949, Mexican archaeologist Alberto Ruiz Lhullier discovered a staircase plunging into the heart of the pyramid supporting the Temple of Inscriptions at Palenque in Mexico's Chiapas state. After three years of excavating, he reached the burial chamber. It contained a 20-ton stone coffin with a wonderfully carved lid. Inside was the skeleton of a Mayan ruler heaped with jade.
In 1968, Swiss author Erich von Däniken published his bestseller Chariots of the Gods, which claimed that space aliens had visited the Earth in the remote past and helped create human civilizations. One of his pieces of evidence was the Palenque coffin lid. Von Däniken thought it showed an ancient astronaut, reclining in a couch, blasting off in a spaceship.
Scholars began to get a handle on the meaning of Mayan hieroglyphics in the 1970s. They learned that the king buried in the pyramid was named Pacal , who reigned from A.D. 615 to 684. Today, most Maya experts believe the coffin lid shows a mythological scene in which Pacal is shown falling into the Mayan underworld in expectation of rebirth.

We are really excited about this upcoming pilgrimage to Palenque. Last year, while exploring Tikal, Copan and Quirigua, we felt a huge shift in the sites. Maya sites are linked to calendars and also to what I call alarm clocks. Last year it was clear that Copan's alarm clock has sounded, and awoke from an asleep state or in a holding pattern. If Copan is awake now, I expect that other sites will also be sounding their alarms. So after 2 years, we are really ready to go back to Palenque.
Palenque has been amazing, but somewhat quiet for the past few years. I fully expect that this has changed. I feel Palenque is the home to a Living Library much like the Ica Stones are the library in PERU. According to "The Keys of Enoch", Palenque is also the HEAD of the DOVE. This means Palenque is the center of wisdom, but I also feel that it is a place of GREAT HEART. I feel that Palenque will be one of the first sites in the Americas where the new Cities of Light will appear.
In my 52 years with the Star Elders, the ONLY prediction they have ever made was by saying this… "a sufficient amount of people have become awakened and aware enough that you have pushed the envelope of the Shift of the Ages closer by our original 2012 date. Making 2008 the year you / we will make the shift, a whole 4 years earlier than we perceived 10 thousand years ago." This trip to Palenque will be our first trip to this new City of LIGHT in 2008. ENRIQUE ENCALADA
When Enrike had his first contact with the Sacred Knowledge at the age of 15, the revelation of these truths changed his life, and he began to follow a sacred path which has lead him in amazing directions. In 1984, he was the assistant to the Mayan Gnostic Congress Of Atlantis in Merida, Mexico. In 1995, he participated in the Great Meeting of the Mayan Solar Initiation. This meeting deepened his Sacred Studies. That same year he also fulfilled one of his life's purposes by going to Japan, where he found a lost part of his inner self. In Japan, he had his first contact with Buddhist and Shinto doctrines. After his return, he journeyed to Teotihuacan, Tlatelolco and the Maya lands to bridge the connections between the ancients of the Far East and those in MesoAmerica. In 1996, he received his first inspiration/vision to lead a meditation in Tulum. In January of 1998, he took part in the teachings of the 8 Verses of Mental Training given by Lama Geshe Tsultilm Gyeltsen. In September of 1998, under the sponsoring of Hunbatz Men and the Naga Ku Mysteries School in Japan, he was sent to Japan as an emissary to offer lectures about the Mayan Sacred Knowledge to Japan's New Age Community. There he discovered his Sacred Mayan name, Uc Akè Chan. In December of 1999/2000 during Y2K, Enrique participated in his first trip with Aluna Joy. Since then, he has had the honor to travel with her and her wonderful groups every Spring Equinox. CHRISTOPHER POWELL An archaeologist with 20 years in the field, Powell has worked all over the Maya world, both in the ruins and with the modern Maya people. After a decade of contract and research archaeology in the United States, Powell shifted his focus to Mesoamerica. From 1993 to 1996, he worked at Copan, Honduras with the University of Pennsylvania where he excavated the richly decorated tomb of Copan's lineage founder, Yax K'uk' Mo, the tomb of his queen, and the tomb of a sacrificial burial of a tlaloc style warrior. His work at Copan is featured in the December 1997 issue of National Geographic Magazine.
In 1996, he began working at Palenque, first as field director for the Pre-Columbian Art Research Institute's PGC (Projecto Grupo de Las Cruces) and later as a supervisor for INAH (Instituto Nacional de Antropologia y Historia). He was field director during the 1999 season when the PGC excavated Temple XIX and the finely carved throne of Akal Mo Nhab III, one of Palenque's final kings. Powell's 1998 University of Texas at Austin thesis entitled "A New View on Maya Astronomy" presented groundbreaking evidence regarding Maya calendrics and how they are mathematically based on multiple astronomical cycles.
His current focus is on the completion of his Ph.D. dissertation, "The Shapes of Sacred Space", which will present his revolutionary new theories regarding Maya geometry and explain how the Maya, both ancient and modern, incorporate the proportions of nature in their art and architecture.
